Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena confirmed this decision through an official circular. According to the notification, the limited holiday of Guru Ravidas Jayanti proposed earlier in November 2024 has now been changed to a full public holiday. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the tradition of celebrating Guru Ravidas Jayanti with public participation.

Guru Ravidas Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas, a great saint and Bhakti poet of the 15th century.
