A plan has been made to work on this problem in two phases. He said that under the first phase, the number of police personnel will be increased on the post in the morning and evening so that the traffic can be controlled properly.
In the second phase, there is a plan to widen the post. From zero to one of the post, there is a ban on building a road on the part of the post by NGT. The road of this part of the post will be made elevated, while the traffic at Khajuri Chowk will be made jam-free. Currently, there is a jam for more than two hours in the evening on Sonia Vihar Post.
Sonia Vihar Pushta Road has become a major route for people commuting from Sonia Vihar and Ghaziabad’s Loni Tranica City to Baghpat Baraut. It is mostly used by the people of Sonia Vihar to commute to other areas of Delhi. The population of Sonia Vihar Colony, located from one to five Pushta, has also increased considerably.
There are a large number of voters here and this colony plays a major role in making any party win the elections. The biggest problem for the people here is the traffic jam on this bridge which increases especially in the evening.
People remain stuck in the traffic jam for hours, reach home late and if someone from Sonia Vihar has to go to a hospital, then he faces a huge problem in commuting.

There has been a demand for widening the Sonia Vihar Pushta Road for the last several years. If we talk about the past years, no progress could be made in the last 5 years because there was an Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi and the MLA of this area was Mohan Singh Bisht from BJP.
Due to political ideology and infighting, no work could be done in this matter. But now there is hope for this work because Kapil Mishra, who was elected from this area on a BJP ticket, is also a cabinet minister in the Delhi government. With the BJP government in Delhi, this work is now expected to speed up.
Talking about the bridge, soil has already been put in some parts to double it, while some still need to be put in. But there are instructions from NGT not to build a road in the section from zero bridge to one bridge.
