Indian Railways has started two Vande Bharat Express trains for Jammu and Kashmir, due to which the journey from Katra to Srinagar can now be completed in just 3 hours and 5 minutes. The first train will leave from Katra at 8:10 am and the second at 2:55 pm. Two trains will also run from Srinagar for return.
New Delhi: Indian Railways has decided to run two Vande Bharat Express trains in Kashmir. This will benefit tourists visiting Jammu, Srinagar and Kashmir. The first train will leave from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station at 8:10 am. This train will go to Srinagar via Banihal. The second train will leave from Katra at 2:55 pm and reach Srinagar at 6 pm. Two Vande Bharat trains will also run from Srinagar on the return journey. Railway Board ED/IP Dilip Kumar has given this information.

Railways has decided to run two Vande Bharat Express trains in the valley. This will be very convenient for the people of Jammu and Srinagar as well as tourists.
What will be the route and time of the trains?
The first train, numbered 26041, will start from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station. It will depart from Katra at 8:10 am and reach Banihal at 10 am. After this, this train will reach Srinagar at 11:10 am.
Similarly, the second train, number 26403, will leave from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 2:55 pm. It will reach Srinagar at 6 pm via Banihal.
Two Vande Bharat Express trains will also be run for return. Train number 26402, which is Vande Bharat Jammu Tawi Express, will leave from Srinagar station at 2 pm. It will reach Banihal station at 3:10 pm and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station at 5:05 pm.
Similarly, train number 26404, Srinagar Jammu Tawi Vande Bharat Express, will leave from Srinagar station at 8 am. This train will reach Banihal station at 9:02 am and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 11:05 am. Currently, this train will run only between Srinagar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra stations.
Work to improve Jammu Tawi station continues
Work to improve Jammu Tawi station is underway. This station is being developed as Amrit station. The work is going on at a very fast pace. As soon as the work of Amrit station is completed, these four trains will be run till Delhi.
With the running of these trains, the distance between Jammu and Kashmir will be reduced. There is not always connectivity by road, but the railways have the facility that trains will run in every season. Trains will run even in bad weather.
The journey from Katra to Srinagar will now be completed in just 3 hours and 5 minutes. This will save a lot of time. It still takes 6 to 8 hours to go by road. These trains will not only benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir, but will also benefit those tourists who want to visit the valleys of Kashmir.
