The Railway Ministry has approved the Vande Bharat Express between Srinagar-Jammu Tawi. This train service is to connect the Kashmir Valley with the country. PM Modi can flag it off on 6 June.
Vande Bharat train: The Railway Ministry has approved the Vande Bharat Express train service between Srinagar and Jammu Tawi. This historic step has been taken with the aim of providing fast and convenient connectivity to the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country. Now passengers will be able to travel from Srinagar to Jammu Tawi via Katra with the modern facilities of Vande Bharat. According to the order issued by the Railway Board, this train service will be run on two routes – 26401/26402 and 26403/26404. In this, there will be a total of four Vande Bharat trains between Srinagar to Jammu Tawi and Jammu Tawi to Srinagar, out of which two will be regular services.
Four new trains are being operated for the convenience of railway passengers between Srinagar and Katra. Train number 26404 will depart from Srinagar at 8:00 am and reach Banihal at 9:02 am and reach Katra at 10:58 am. On the return journey, train number 26403 will depart from Katra at 2:55 pm, reach Banihal at 4:40 pm and Srinagar at 5:53 pm. Similarly, train number 26401 will depart from Katra at 8:10 am, reach Banihal at 9:58 am and Srinagar at 11:08 am. Train number 26402 will depart from Srinagar at 2:00 pm, reach Banihal at 3:10 pm and reach Katra at 4:58 pm. With the operation of these trains, passengers will get the benefit of smooth and timely travel within Jammu and Kashmir.

High-speed journey from Srinagar to Mata Vaishno Devi
The most important aspect of this train is that now devotees will be able to reach Mata Vaishno Devi Katra directly from Srinagar by Vande Bharat Express. This will make religious travel easier and faster. Tourism is also expected to get a new momentum from this. Let us tell you that this Vande Bharat will pass through the world’s highest rail bridge, which is a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project.

It is believed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can flag off this train on June 6. This step is considered to be a new beginning regarding infrastructure and transport in the Kashmir Valley, which will promote both development and tourism in the region.
