New Delhi: The Bihar Assembly elections could be announced any day now, as the Election Commission is expected to announce the dates soon. This time too, a close contest is expected between the NDA and the Grand Alliance in Bihar. The Congress Working Committee met in Patna today.
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, made a major announcement in Patna on Wednesday. He made the surprising announcement at the Backwards Justice Resolution Seminar. He stated that if the India Alliance comes to power, it will abolish the 50% reservation limit. On this occasion, the Congress launched the Extremely Backward Resolution.
What did Rahul Gandhi say?
Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi said that the India Alliance will ensure reservation for the Extremely Backward Classes in private institutions and government contracts worth more than ₹25 crore. He attacked the Nitish Kumar government, saying that the Nitish Kumar government has done nothing for the betterment of the Extremely Backward Classes.
It has only used them as a vote bank. He also stated that a ten-point resolution was passed today at the Extremely Backward Justice Resolution Seminar. It will be implemented if the All India Alliance comes to power in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi pledged, “Our alliance will not allow the BJP to act arbitrarily.
Won’t Allow BJP to Run Its Own Way – Rahul Gandhi
The senior Congress leader said that the Gujarat model is clear: bulldozers for Dalits, backward classes, and the poor, while thousands of acres of land for Adani are free or for just one rupee. In the Pethapur slum in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, over 400 families were evicted from their homes on false accusations.
They possessed valid identification documents and records, such as electricity bills, tax receipts, ration cards, Aadhaar cards, and voter ID cards. Rahul Gandhi also pointed out that similar incidents of vandalism are occurring not only in Gujarat but also in Delhi and other parts of the country.
The BJP clearly knows that it cannot form a government through a genuine mandate. Rahul Gandhi has been continuously protesting against the Election Commission and the government.
