Team India’s jersey sponsorship will now be more expensive, BCCI increased the rates

BCCI is looking for a jersey sponsor for Team India as Dream11 has broken its ties with the Indian team. In such a situation, Team India will be seen playing in the Asia Cup without a jersey sponsor.

BCCI has made a big change in the rates of Team India’s jersey sponsorship. Now any company will have to pay more than before to put the logo on Team India’s jersey. According to the new rates, Rs 3.5 crore per match has been fixed for bilateral series and Rs 1.5 crore per match for multi-nation tournaments. This decision has been taken at a time when the current sponsor of the Indian team Dream 11 is out of the contract. Dream 11 has lost the jersey sponsor after the Online Gaming Promotion and Regulation Act 2025 implemented by the government.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, earlier the rates were fixed at Rs 3.17 crore for bilateral matches and Rs 1.12 crore for multinational tournaments. That is, the new rates are slightly higher than the previous rates. BCCI is expected to earn more than Rs 400 crore from this change, while the final figure will depend on the bidding process.

When will the new rates be implemented?

The new rates will come into effect after the upcoming Asia Cup. However, India’s team will play in this Asia Cup without any jersey sponsor, as BCCI has set September 16 as the last date for submitting new bids. BCCI has made it clear that any bidding company or its associated organization should not be associated with online money gaming, betting or gambling in any way. Nor should there be investment or ownership in such businesses. Dream11 discontinued its real money games after the Online Gaming Act 2025 came into force. For this reason, the company also withdrew from the jersey sponsorship of the Indian cricket team. Now BCCI is looking for a new sponsor, and it will be seen which company becomes the jersey sponsor of Team India at these expensive rates.

India and Pakistan will clash on 14 September

It is worth noting that the Indian cricket team will be seen in the Asia Cup to be played from September 9. The Indian team will start its campaign against UAE on September 10. After this, India and Pakistan will face each other on September 14. In its third and last match of the league stage, India will face Oman on September 19.
