MP Weather: The monsoon’s withdrawal from the northwestern parts of the state began on Wednesday. However, it may take some time for the monsoon to depart from the entire state. Meanwhile, heavy rain will continue in many districts of the state. During the last 24 hours, scattered rain continued in the districts of Indore, Ujjain, Sagar, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, and Shahdol divisions. Rain was also recorded at most locations in the Rewa division. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain may occur in some areas of MP in the next one or two days, i.e., September 26th and 27th. A yellow alert for light rain has been issued for the state today.

Weather changes expected from Thursday

The monsoon withdrawal from the entire state may take some time. The southern, eastern, and parts of the central region are expected to depart in the first week of October or later. This is due to a cyclonic circulation forming in the upper atmosphere off the Myanmar coast, which is expected to transform into a low-pressure area from Thursday. This low-pressure area will form over southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas on September 26th.

Monsoon active for a full 100 days

The monsoon’s withdrawal from the state began on Wednesday. In previous years, the monsoon has typically departed in October, but this time, the withdrawal has begun ahead of schedule in the northwestern part of the state. This year, the monsoon has been active in the state for a full 100 days. The monsoon entered the state on June 16th and will depart on September 24th. This is the first time in seven years that the monsoon has departed in September. Earlier, it had departed on 30 September 2017 and on 29 September 2015.

The rainy season will continue here.

Similarly, the monsoon’s departure from the southern parts of the state, including Bhopal, may take some time. Bhopal is expected to depart in the first week of October. The monsoon’s departure from the state usually occurs in the last week of September. Normally, the monsoon’s departure from Neecham begins on September 26th. This marks the first premature departure in the last ten years.

Monsoon departs from these districts

The monsoon withdrew from Neemuch, Sheopur, Morena, and Bhind districts on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department estimates that the monsoon may withdraw from some other districts in the next two to three days, although another system is expected to become active in the Bay of Bengal in the coming one or two days.
