This mega tournament will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. A total of 20 teams will participate. India has selected 5 venues (Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi) and Sri Lanka 3 venues (Colombo, Kandy) for the tournament. The opening final matches will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 20 teams participating in the tournament have been divided into 4 groups of 5 in each group. Each team will play 4 matches in the group stage. The top-2 teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 stage. After the Super 8 matches, the top-2 teams will advance to the semi-finals, and the final will be played in Ahmedabad.

India is in Group A. It includes Pakistan, Netherlands, Namibia and USA. India will play their matches against UAE (Mumbai) on February 7, Namibia (Delhi) on February 12, Pakistan (Colombo) on February 15 and Netherlands (Ahmedabad) on February 18. As per the BCCI-ICC-PCB agreement, Pakistan will play all their group matches in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan reaches the final, that match will also be played in Colombo. Italy is making its World Cup debut through this tournament.

– Group C: Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Zimbabwe, Oman.
– Group D: South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada, UAE.
Speaking as ambassador, Rohit Sharma said, “Winning the ICC Trophy is a big challenge.” Playing at home is an added strength for India, who have won the tournament twice in the past (2007, 2024).
