Senior Citizens Special Account: Bank of Baroda, a prominent name among the country’s leading banks, has launched a special initiative for senior citizens. The bank has introduced a special savings account designed specifically for seniors. Through this account, elderly customers will be able to access all banking facilities from the comfort of their homes—meaning they will no longer need to visit the bank in person.
Senior Citizens Special Account: Bank of Baroda has presented a significant gift to senior citizens. Typically, senior citizens are unable to venture out frequently. Consequently, keeping their difficulties in mind, the bank has launched a special savings account specifically for them. Bank of Baroda has introduced a premium savings account titled ‘BoB Senior Citizen Vishisht Samman’. This account is available exclusively to senior citizens who maintain a Monthly Average Balance (MAB) of ₹1 lakh. Once this premium account is opened, customers will no longer need to visit the bank in person.
According to a report published in *The Economic Times*, this premium account offers senior citizens a host of benefits. These include healthcare-related advantages as well as doorstep banking facilities. In terms of healthcare, the account provides free online medical consultations (covering up to six family members), discounts on medicines and diagnostic tests, and access to various banking services delivered right to their doorstep every month.
Doorstep Facility for Senior Citizens
Under this new premium savings account, customers will benefit from a doorstep banking facility. This includes two complimentary doorstep banking services every month. Consequently, their need to visit the bank will be reduced, allowing them to conduct their banking transactions from the comfort of their home. Additionally, customers opening this account will receive a complimentary BOB Bhoomi RuPay Select Debit Card, which offers a host of exclusive benefits. These benefits include services such as free health check-ups, airport lounge access, gym memberships, spa and salon services, golf privileges, and OTT subscriptions.
According to the report, under the new savings account, customers will be able to avail a 50% waiver on the processing fee for reverse mortgage loans. A discount of up to 20% will be offered on locker charges. Additionally, NEFT and RTGS transactions will be available free of cost. Furthermore, customers will be able to benefit from a discount of up to 50% on IMPS transactions.
