3 big systems affecting the weather
According to IMD’s weather analysis, three main weather systems are currently active in the country which are responsible for this change: –
Low Pressure Area: A cyclonic circulation is over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh. Under its influence, a new low pressure area is likely to form in the north-west Bay of Bengal around July 3, which will make the monsoon more intense in central India.
Off-shore Trough: An off-shore trough is active over the sea level from Maharashtra to North Kerala coast, causing heavy rainfall over the coastal areas of Konkan, Goa and Karnataka.
Western Disturbance: A new western disturbance is going to hit North-West India from July 2, 2026, which will further intensify the rain activities from mountains to plains.
Due to rain in North-West India (like Delhi, UP, Punjab), the maximum temperature will drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius by July 2. This will provide great relief to people from the scorching heat and humidity. However, humid and hot weather may disturb the northeastern states (Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal) between July 2 and 4.
