Heavy rain and storm alert in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, a warning has been issued for heavy rains in Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra. The IMD informed that this cyclonic system is developing in the east-central Arabian Sea. Due to this, heavy rains are expected in these states in the coming days. Another circulation area will likely form in the Arabian Sea around May 22, 2025.
After this, the system is likely to move northwards. The IMD informed that a cyclonic wind system has developed about 1.5 km above the sea from parts of southern Gujarat to the north-eastern Arabian Sea, due to which instability is visible in the weather. The effect of this cyclonic system can be seen till May 23. This may cause rain in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
Pre-monsoon became active
According to the IMD, pre-monsoon rain warnings have been issued in the state of Gujarat until May 23. The monsoon is expected to hit Kerala on time, i.e. by May 30. The weather may get worse in the state.
The IMD has issued an orange alert that,t till May 24, heavy rains with thunderstorms have been warned due to the southwest monsoon. There is a possibility of strong winds here. IMD said that the weather system developing in the Arabian Sea will not affect the country’s northern areas.
