Asia Cup 2025 Final: India clinch 9th title, beat Pakistan with Tilak’s heroics, Kuldeep’s spin

India won the Asia Cup again. In the final in Dubai, India beat Pakistan by 5 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets for 30 runs. Tilak Verma made 69 not out. With this, India won the Cup for the 9th time. It was the first Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan started the final on Sunday evening, September 28, at the Dubai International Stadium in a strong way. Batting first, openers Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman gave a good start with attacking shots. Farhan again targeted Jasprit Bumrah and scored 57 runs in only 38 balls. Farhan and Fakhar made a fine 84-run partnership. After that, Fakhar Zaman kept going and took the team past 100 runs.

Kuldeep turns the game

When Pakistan looked in a good position, Kuldeep Yadav struck. In the 13th over, he got Saim Ayub out. Pakistan’s score was 113 for 2. After that, wickets fell quickly in the next five overs. The whole team was all out for only 146 runs. Kuldeep took three wickets for just one run in the 17th over. Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel, and Bumrah also took two wickets each.

Tilak and Dube save India

Earlier, India had beaten Pakistan easily in the group stage and Super 4 matches, with Abhishek Sharma giving quick starts. But in the final, Abhishek got out in the second over. Captain Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill also failed. India lost three wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs.

Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma then made a 57-run stand to bring India back. After Samson got out, Shivam Dube joined Tilak. Both added 60 runs in 40 balls. Tilak made his half-century and stayed strong. Dube got out in the last ball of the 19th over, with India needing 10 runs from 6 balls. In the last over, Tilak hit a six on the second ball of Haris Rauf, and Rinku Singh hit a four on the fourth ball to win the match. Faheem Ashraf took three wickets for Pakistan.
