UP Monsoon – Heavy rains to occur again in UP, IMD alert

UP Monsoon Alert: The month of September is now in its final phase, with three days remaining. This month is considered crucial in terms of weather changes, bringing relief from the intense heat. The scorching sun has made life difficult for people over the past few days, but now, relief from the heat is likely.

On the other hand, the monsoon is almost on its way out across the state. The next 12 hours are not going to be easy, as rain could prove to be a disaster for people. On Saturday, light to moderate rain was observed in many areas of the state capital, Lucknow. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a heavy rain alert has been issued for several areas of Uttar Pradesh. Read the weather update below.

Heavy Rain Warning in Uttar Pradesh

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected in many areas of western and eastern Uttar Pradesh on September 28th. Additionally, thunderstorms and lightning are expected in some areas of both regions. On September 29th, rain and thunderstorms are expected in both regions of the state.

Then, the state is expected to experience some relief from rain on September 30th, October 1st, and October 2nd. Rainfall is not expected anywhere. Additionally, a rain alert has been issued for isolated areas in western Uttar Pradesh and a few areas in eastern Uttar Pradesh during this period. It is advisable to stay indoors during the rainy season, as lightning is also a possible threat.

What was the temperature level?

According to the IMD, a light to moderate rain alert has been issued for several locations, including the capital Lucknow, on Saturday. Lucknow recorded 3.6 mm of rain. Etawah saw up to 3 mm of rain. Maximum temperatures in most districts of Uttar Pradesh trended between 30°C and 35°C.

Meerut recorded the highest temperature of 37.2°C, followed by Gorakhpur at 35.4°C and Basti at 35.5°C. Bareilly, Moradabad, and Muzaffarnagar recorded maximum temperatures of 36.6°C, 35.2°C, and 35.6°C. It’s been a moderately warm season for quite some time. Even at night, despite the breeze, people are still experiencing humidity, making them miserable.
