The Uttarakhand government has given a big gift to employees of corporations, bodies, and autonomous institutions. The Pushkar Singh Dhami government has issued an order to increase the dearness allowance (DA) of employees in the fifth and sixth pay scales by 11% and 6%. The new rates will be effective from January 1, 2025, and arrears will also be available. The increased DA will be included in the September salary, which will be received in October.
Dearness Allowance of Uttarakhand Employees Increased
According to the order, the DA of fifth pay scale employees has increased by 11%, raising it from 455% to 466%. The DA of sixth pay scale employees has increased by 6%, rising from 246% to 252%.
The new rates are effective from January 1, 2025, and arrears for July to August 2025 will also be paid. Because of this increase, lakhs of employees and pensioners will get an extra ₹1,200 to ₹2,200 per month.
DA of 7th Pay Commission Employees Increased in May
In May, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government increased the dearness allowance (DA) of employees and pensioners in the seventh pay scale by 2%. The DA went up from 53% to 55%.
This helped 1,70,000 employees and 1,45,000 pensioners. It included people working in government jobs, local bodies, aided schools, state universities, technical colleges, and those under UGC pay scales.
