Monsoon Forecast: The next two days, or 48 hours, are going to be challenging for several states in North India, as the weather is expected to take a turn for the worse. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in the plains of North India from January 22nd to 23rd. Hailstorms and lightning are also expected.
For the past three days, the plains of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have seen a slight increase in temperature due to sunshine after 9 AM. Yesterday, the sun provided some warmth for a short period. Heavy Rain Warning in These States
According to the IMD, Delhi may experience thunderstorms and rain from January 22nd to 23rd. A heavy rain alert with thunderstorms and lightning has also been issued for Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab. The IMD has predicted strong winds at a speed of 40-50 km per hour.
A warning for lightning and strong winds has been issued for Western Rajasthan on January 22nd. Light rain is also possible there. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Northern Rajasthan may experience rainfall on the 23rd. A warning for rain and snowfall has been issued for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Low Temperatures in Punjab
According to the IMD, minimum temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees Celsius were recorded in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. Intense cold is also expected in Western Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Mizoram.
The temperature is expected to be around 10 degrees Celsius in these areas. Besides these, higher-than-normal temperatures were recorded in Haryana, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains of India is expected to be 2.6°C, recorded in Adampur (Punjab).

The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has warned of dense fog in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh during the morning and night on January 22nd. Furthermore, dense fog is likely to occur during the morning hours in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Rajasthan for three days, from January 24th to 26th.
