LPG cylinder becomes costlier by this much, check the new price

Domestic LPG Rates

Based on Indian Oil data, a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder is available in Delhi today for ₹853, down from ₹951 in Patna, ₹852.50 in Mumbai, and ₹890.50 in Lucknow. It is ₹985.5 in Kargil, ₹969 in Pulwama, and ₹890.5 in Bageshwar.

March Inflation Trend: Last 5 Years

Data from the last 5 years shows that the month of March has often brought inflation for LPG consumers. Commercial cylinders, in particular, have become more expensive every month, while every change in the price of domestic cylinders has shocked consumers. Currently, at the end of February 2026, a domestic LPG cylinder is available for ₹853 in Delhi, ₹879 in Kolkata, ₹852.50 in Mumbai, and ₹868.50 in Chennai. Meanwhile, a commercial cylinder is priced at ₹1740.50 in Delhi, ₹1844.50 in Kolkata, ₹1692 in Mumbai, and ₹1899.50 in Chennai. Let’s take a look at the year-by-year price changes in March.

2021: A Double Shock

Consumers faced a double shock at the beginning of 2021. On March 1, 2021, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder increased by ₹25, reaching ₹819 in Delhi, ₹845.50 in Kolkata, ₹819 in Mumbai, and ₹835 in Chennai. On the same day, commercial cylinder prices also increased by ₹95 to ₹98, reaching ₹1614 in Delhi, ₹1681.50 in Kolkata, ₹1564 in Mumbai, and ₹1731 in Chennai.

2022: Prices Increased Twice

In March 2022, rates were updated not once but twice. On March 1, commercial cylinder prices jumped by ₹105 to ₹108. It reached ₹2012 in Delhi, ₹2095 in Kolkata, ₹1963 in Mumbai, and ₹2146 in Chennai. Subsequently, on March 22nd, domestic cylinders were hit, increasing by ₹50 to ₹949.50 in Delhi, ₹976 in Kolkata, ₹949.50 in Mumbai, and ₹965.50 in Chennai.

2023: A major setback this year too

March 2023 proved to be the most expensive. On March 1st, domestic cylinder prices jumped by ₹50 to ₹1103 in Delhi, ₹1129 in Kolkata, ₹1102.50 in Mumbai, and ₹1118.50 in Chennai. Meanwhile, commercial cylinder prices were crippled. ₹105 in Delhi to ₹2120, ₹108 in Kolkata to ₹2222, ₹106 in Mumbai to ₹2072, and ₹106 in Chennai to ₹2268.

2024: Minor Commercial Price Increase

Domestic cylinder prices remained stable in 2024, but commercial cylinders provided consumers with a slight increase. On March 1, 19-kg cylinders became more expensive by ₹26 in Delhi and Mumbai, and ₹24 in Kolkata and Chennai. The new prices were ₹1795 in Delhi, ₹1749 in Mumbai, ₹1911 in Kolkata, and ₹1961 in Chennai.

2025: Minor Increase

Last year, March 2025, again weighed heavily on commercial cylinders, although the increase was minor. On March 1, the price of a cylinder increased by ₹6 in Delhi to ₹1803, in Kolkata to ₹1913, in Mumbai to ₹1756, and in Chennai to ₹1965. Domestic cylinders remained unchanged this time as well.
