New Delhi: Today marks the festival of colours, Holi, which will be celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. Weather conditions may dampen Holi celebrations in many parts of the country. Snowfall in several areas of Himachal Pradesh this morning has led to a drop in temperatures. Snowfall continued in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand and Kashmir.
Rising temperatures in the plains of North India have made people feel warmer. People have begun packing warm clothes in their suitcases. Many areas will experience the effects of a Western Disturbance, which is expected to become active soon.

Cloudy skies are expected in Delhi-NCR. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain in various states across the country. People are advised to be cautious due to the possibility of lightning.

According to the IMD, rain and snowfall are expected in the higher reaches of the hilly state of Jammu and Kashmir on Holi. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh may also experience thunderstorms and lightning. Rain and snowfall are expected in Uttarakhand. Dense fog is expected in parts of Meghalaya and Bengal.

The IMD has also issued an alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. Daytime temperatures in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad are expected to hover between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius. Light rain is expected in some coastal areas of Kerala. Mornings are expected to remain pleasant in South India.
Western Disturbance Expected to Activate
According to the IMD, a new Western Disturbance is expected to activate between March 4 and 8. Rain and snowfall are expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Drizzle is expected in many areas of Uttarakhand on March 8.
Clear weather is expected in North India, with winds blowing at 20 to 25 kilometres per hour. Maximum and minimum temperatures may increase in other states, including Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar.

According to the IMD, the weather in Delhi-NCR is expected to remain clear. However, light clouds are expected in the sky. On March 4th, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 16 degrees Celsius. A mild chill in the morning and a mild heat during the day are expected.
