The board has announced that a dozen areas in three assembly constituencies will be without water for 24 hours. The supply will be halted for repairs to pipelines connected to the Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant. Most areas in the Rohini, Rithala, and Badli assembly constituencies will be without water from 10 am on March 17th until 10 am the next day.
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) alert states that the pipeline supplying water to these areas has been damaged, and efforts are underway to repair it as soon as possible. Residents living in these areas have been advised to make alternative arrangements and necessary precautions. They have been asked to store sufficient water in advance. Tankers will also be made available based on demand.
Which areas will be affected by water supply disruptions?
Rohini – Water supply will be disrupted in Sector 19, Badli Industrial Area Phase 1, 2, 3, Suraj Park, Raja Vihar, Prashant Vihar, and surrounding areas in the Rohini Assembly constituency.
Rithala – Several areas in Rithala are also facing water shortages. Sector 16, Sector 17, Sardar Colony, Amar Jyoti Colony, and surrounding areas in Rithala will face problems.
Badli – Water supply will be disrupted in Samaypur, Shivpuri, Teacher Colony, Badli Village, and surrounding areas in Badli.
