Noida News: The Assistant Divisional Transport Officer stated that action—including the issuance of challans as well as the suspension of driving licenses for a prescribed period—will be taken against those driving such vehicles in public places.
The district administration in Noida is set to adopt a strict stance against those who install modified silencers, hooters, and pressure horns in their vehicles. The Transport Department has initiated stringent measures against such vehicles. Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Dr. Udit Narayan Pandey stated that the use of modified silencers, pressure horns, and hooters contributes to noise pollution. A special campaign is currently underway across the district to curb this noise pollution. Furthermore, the High Court has also issued directives for effective action in this regard.
He further informed that, as part of this campaign, meetings are being held with transport unions, motor garages, and workshop operators. Simultaneously, efforts are being made to raise awareness among them regarding the harmful effects of noise pollution. Additionally, complaints against such vehicles can be registered by calling the Transport Department’s helpline number.
The Assistant Divisional Transport Officer stated that during surprise inspections of motor garages and workshops, if any establishment is found selling modified silencers or devices that generate noise pollution, strict action will be taken against them, and heavy fines will be imposed. Furthermore, strict action will be initiated against the owners of any vehicles found to be fitted with hooters, modified silencers, or similar devices.
Registration of Vehicles with Modified Silencers to be Suspended
Action will be taken against individuals driving such vehicles in public places, involving not only the issuance of fines but also the suspension of their driving licenses for a prescribed period. He stated that the registration of any vehicle found to be fitted with a modified silencer will be suspended. Furthermore, enforcement teams across the district are conducting intensive inspection drives to keep a strict watch on those violating the regulations.
