Meteorologists have issued an alert regarding rain in many states. Due to the cyclonic system formed in the Bay of Bengal and active monsoon trough, the rainy season is likely to continue in the coming days.
Monsoon remains active in many parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in many states today due to the effect of the cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal and the monsoon trough. There are chances of heavy rain at some places in North-East India and eastern states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar.
According to Skymet, the monsoon trough is currently extending to the east-central part of the Bay of Bengal via Bikaner, Churu, Lucknow, Patna, Banka, Diamond Harbour. At the same time, there is a cyclonic circulation in the North Bay of Bengal and surrounding areas, which is active up to a height of about 5.8 kilometers above sea level. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation is also formed around North Gujarat and South-West Rajasthan.
Chances of rain in these states
According to the weather forecast, there may be light to moderate rain in Northeast India, West Bengal, Odisha and North Andaman-Nicobar Islands with heavy rain at some places. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some parts of Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.
Light rain possible in these areas
Apart from this, light rain may occur in Western Himalayan region, parts of Punjab, Haryana, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala. There is no chance of rain in Delhi at present. Due to no rain the day temperature has started rising again. After a gap of one week, the maximum temperature again reached 38 degrees Celsius.
However, due to strong surface winds, the temperature will not rise much and the maximum temperature is likely to be around 37°C. The day temperature will remain between 36 to 37 degrees Celsius throughout the week. There is no possibility of any major rain in Delhi during this period and the weather will remain mainly hot and dry.
