According to the Meteorological Department, on July 18, rain in the North-East and Himalayan areas of the country can take the most lethal form. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places with isolated extremely heavy falls is expected over Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Warning of very heavy rain in these 4 states

IMD has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rain for the following 5 states:-

Uttarakhand: Amid continuous rains on the mountains in Devbhoomi, torrential rains will continue in some parts on July 18.

Chhattisgarh: Due to the activity of monsoon in this state of Central India, very heavy rains are expected at many places.

Assam and Meghalaya: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in these two northeastern states.

Arunachal Pradesh: Heavy to very heavy rainfall may also be recorded in the hilly and foothill areas here.

Heavy rain alert in these 11 states including UP, Bihar and MP

There is a possibility of heavy rain at different places in a total of 11 states and regions of the country on July 18:-

Uttar Pradesh (East): Monsoon will be active in areas of eastern UP and there is a possibility of heavy rain.

Bihar and Jharkhand: Clouds will rain heavily in these two neighboring states and heavy rain will be recorded in many parts.

East Madhya Pradesh: Heavy rain alert has been issued in eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Himachal Pradesh: Heavy rain is expected in some areas of the hill state Himachal Pradesh.

Odisha: Here too, due to the activity of monsoon, there is a possibility of heavy rain at different places.

Kerala and Mahe: Heavy rain may occur in Kerala and Mahe region of South India.

Karnataka: Heavy rains will be seen in different parts of Karnataka state.

Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura: Warning of heavy rain has also been issued in these four northeastern states.

Thundersquall and thunderstorm warning

Along with rain, the Meteorological Department has also predicted high speed winds and lightning in many states. There is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at different places in Telangana. The speed of winds can reach 50 to 60 km per hour.

There is a strong possibility of strong gusty winds at a speed of 40-50 km per hour and lightning in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Interior Karnataka. There is a possibility of winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour along with thunderstorms in Bihar, Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Rayalaseema, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

An alert of thunder and lightning has been issued in various parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura tomorrow. Very strong surface winds may also occur in some areas of Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Telangana tomorrow.

Humidity will continue to wreak havoc in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi

On one hand, while a large part of the country will face rain and flood-like conditions, on the other hand, people in the plains of north-west India will have to face humidity. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain very hot and humid at different places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Punjab.
