In fact, the Homeland Security Department (DHS) of the American Donald Trump administration has proposed to increase the fees for H-1B visa applications. The department said that the fee for visa applications has now been proposed to be increased to $1,03,265. However, this increased fee will be applicable only on some visa applications.
This proposal given by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been published in the Federal Register of America. According to which, payment of the controversial fee increase of one lakh dollars for H-1B visa introduced by US President Donald Trump last year will now become a formal regulatory requirement.
30 days time will be given to know people’s views
This new proposed rule will now be kept among the people for the next 30 days, on which the citizens of America will give their views regarding this proposed rule and after this the Homeland Security Department can finalize this proposal by the end of this year. This major step has been taken by the US administration led by President Donald Trump amid increased uncertainty regarding the H-1B visa program, in which workers of Indian origin have the highest share.
Last year, Trump had fixed the fee of 1 lakh dollars for H-1B.
