Monsoon Alert: Meteorological Department issued rain warning in 16 states

Rain warning in these parts

Apart from these, an alert of heavy rain with thunder has been issued in the northeastern states of Sikkim, Manipur, and Tripura. A heavy rain warning has been issued in Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Puducherry, where people have been advised to exercise caution.

A heavy rain warning has been issued in the states of East, Northeast, Central, and South India. Rain is expected to occur in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh over the next 24 hours.

A heavy rain alert has been issued in Rajasthan, Jharkhand, East and West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch of Gujarat, Konkan-Goa, and Central Maharashtra. A heavy rain alert has been issued in many parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu.

Flights were cancelled due to bad weather.

Due to bad weather, four flights have been cancelled from Ranchi airport, the capital of Jharkhand. These include three Indigo and one Air India Express flights. Due to this, passengers faced problems. Twelve people have died due to heavy rain accompanied by a storm in Gujarat. In comparison, four people lost their lives elsewhere. The monsoon season is expected to become active soon in almost all parts of the country, marking the beginning of a period of torrential rain.
