The Delhi government is preparing to implement a smart card system for all passengers, not just women. Special smart cards will be available for senior citizens, disabled individuals, athletes, war widows, and other bus pass holders. Where will the card be issued and when will the new system be implemented?
Applying for the Pink Saheli card will be easy. Registration counters will be opened across Delhi at District Magistrate and SDM offices, bus depots, or Common Service Centers. Select private banks will be responsible for issuing the cards and operating the counters. Regarding the new system, government reports indicate that once all preparations are complete, a smart card-based system could be implemented any time after January 14th. Following this, Pink tickets will be completely discontinued, and the Pink Saheli card will be mandatory for women to enjoy free bus travel.
