Banks will not be open today, August 8th, throughout the country. Additionally, the RBI has announced a holiday in Gangtok today in observance of the Tendong Lho Rum Faat festival. This festival is one of the oldest and most significant celebrations for the Lepcha tribe in Sikkim, taking place every year on August 8th. It honors nature and pays tribute to the sacred Tendong Hill while safeguarding their ancestors from devastating floods.

August 13 (Thursday): In Imphal, Manipur, banks will be closed in observance of Patriots Day.
August 15 (Saturday): All banks across the country will be closed in celebration of Independence Day.
August 16 (Sunday): Banks will be closed due to the Sunday holiday.
August 19 (Wednesday): In Agartala, Tripura, banks will be closed for the celebration of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur Jayanti.
August 22 (Saturday): Banks will be closed nationwide for the fourth Saturday of the month.
August 23 (Sunday): Weekly holiday.
August 25 (Tuesday): In Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, as well as Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, banks will be closed for Eid-e-Milad and Prathama Onam.
August 26 (Wednesday): Banks will be closed in various states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand due to Eid-e-Milad, Thiruvonam, and local festivals.
August 28 (Friday): Several cities in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh will see banks closed for Raksha Bandhan, Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti, Ayyankali Jayanti, and Pang-Lhabsol.
