Bank Holidays: Banks to Remain Closed for Four Days Next Week, Know The Rest

Bank Holidays: If you have any banking tasks to handle next week, it’s advisable to finish them on Monday, August 24th. From August 25th to 30th, both public and private bank branches will be closed for holidays. However, ATMs will still be operational, and net banking services will remain available, enabling customers to carry out essential online transactions.

Banks observe closures on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.

Every Sunday, banks are closed. Furthermore, branches are not open on the second and fourth Saturdays. Banks must comply with RBI regulations concerning holidays, which apply uniformly to public sector banks, private banks, foreign banks, and regional rural banks.

Today, August 23rd, is Sunday, so they will continue to be closed. Banks will resume operations on August 24th. Typically, Mondays see a high volume of work for banks, especially following weekends when they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. On August 25th, banks will be closed in several states and regions.

Next week, on Tuesday, August 25th, banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will be closed in observance of Milad-un-Nabi, First Onam, and Milad-e-Sharif. However, branches in other locations will remain open. On August 26th, most bank branches, including those in major cities like Bengaluru, Patna, Lucknow, Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi, and Raipur, will be closed due to Eid-e-Milad, Barawfat, and Milad-un-Nabi.

Many states have announced a holiday on August 28 for Raksha Bandhan.

On August 28th, numerous areas will be closed in celebration of Raksha Bandhan and various regional festivals. This includes major cities such as Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Jaipur, Kanpur, and Kochi. Raksha Bandhan is a festival celebrated primarily in North India, and this year it falls on Friday, August 28th.

Banks will also be operational on Saturday, August 29

August 29th is a Saturday. However, bank branches will remain open that day. This is because it is the fifth Saturday of the month. Bank branches are closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. However, bank branches will remain closed on August 30th due to Sunday. Bank branches are closed on Sundays in every state. No work is done on that day.
